Handcrafted live edge tables
My Drive For Success
Having worked with wood most of my life, I have always had a drive within myself to progress and always with a vision of success. A set of morals have helped me to maintain a reliable and trustworthy reputation to deliver what is asked for by clients across the UK. Their satisfaction is in turn what fuels my passion to continue crafting river tables and live edge tables with growing enthusiasm.
Creativity with wood in an artistic sense has always been of interest to me. For many years as a self-employed carpenter, I have always gravitated towards projects that require a high level of accuracy and experience. Before making tables, I was in search of doing something unique, involving more of my own creativity. I started implementing natural live-edge timber to projects and learned how to use epoxy-resin alongside the natural hardwood planks to make them into table tops. There was a steep learning curve for me at first although I was quickly finding out the endless possibilities of artistic creativity which inspired me to continue on my journey. Beginning with small table projects and then progressing to larger dining table projects, I found that, when merging other peoples project ideas along with my own ability to create, there was a great formula for success.
Most of my work is now crafting custom tables to clients’ specifications, where I assist with the design and the planning of their projects. I assist also with sourcing specialist kiln dried character hardwoods for any project at hand. There are options such as the colours and textures of the resin to be used and formulating the ideal custom size requirements to fit the space provided for a table. Other options include the design, material and colour of table support frames or table legs and the wood finishing products to be used. Many other custom design requirements can also be added upon request.
If you would like to discuss your own ideas for a table project or to see how Taylor Craft Works may be able to assist you, please feel free to get in touch and I will be happy to discuss it with you.

The burry oak games table top is now ready for transporting to Patrick Baxter Furniture where it will be introduced to the spectacular base he is currently finishing crafting for it. I hope to get some footage of the finished project prior to its collection at the end of next week where it will be taken down south to its new home beside an indoor swimming pool. ... Stunning table! Looks wonderful!
Absolutely stunning
Stunning 🤩
Yesterday the oak river top was routed/skimmed flat again on both sides to reveal the natural wood again and is now perfectly flat at just over 45mm thickness ready to begin the sanding process.

I’m doing a burry oak coffee table coalition project with Patrick Baxter Furniture. This one is going to have a very extraordinarily beautiful base made for it by Patrick from ash wood. It was a successful pour and was hardened sufficiently to take it out the mould today to begin the flattening process. Looking forward to seeing the end result!
I say it is a coffee table but a large one, 150cm long by 85cm wide. It will be situated beside a swimming pool down south and used mainly for playing games such as cards with the family.

Looks amazing Paul! C xxx
You’ll need a new back!!
Hi I’m needing an island top made for my home bar ideally looking at around 3m in length and around 1.2 width and also for the back back is this something you can do? Cheers
A while back, I crafted a bespoke hi-fi unit from ash wood for a client for his very high end hi-fi separates which required specific unusually larger compartments due to the sizes of the components and to allow airflow for cooling the components when in use.
Due to his large CD collection, he wanted me to craft two tall CD storage units to store them in. I managed to get more olive ash from Patrick Baxter at The Wood Place and make them for him. They were delivered to Glasgow yesterday.

Some more progress on the burry oak tables this week. Only sanded to 180 grit so far and a seal coat before more filling, sanding and polishing. Some rounding (R40) corners for the coffee table for something a bit different.
