Shaping a new look for river tables.

They say that there is always room for improvement, well, I would say that with regards to river tables, it is a difficult design to improve on because every table is unique and unlike factory manufactured tables, they all have their natural edge characteristics and different looks. All river tables have their own individual looks just like people do. So what can be improved with the design? Ok, there are no set ways to 'improve' a river table design as it is only down to peoples preferences although, Taylor Craft Works is working hard to deliver new and innovative ideas to its products by introducing different methods of style and finish to add choice. I have decided to add the option of having curvy edges even when the table has resin to the edges rather than the wood. When clients choose to order a custom table, this option is available along with the other choices that shape your preferred design.

It is true that linear, straight edge design will always be popular and it is evident when looking at how many tables have such straight edges. Most of the river tables I look at out there are straight edged, apart from a few circular ones sometimes which is nice to see although they are still just a uniform shape also.

With having a passion for creativity, I cannot continue to make tables with only straight edges and expect to be satisfied from an artists point of view, it is simply just too boring and there must be diversity for the many people out there who would appreciate something a little bit different to straight lines. Not only has Taylor Craft Works inverted the idea of the river table into an island table by having the live edge wood in the middle and the resin to the outside, the resin edges of the table are shaped to accent the curvy live edge shapes of the wood. Once the edges are polished up, this gives a stunning look which is different to any other river tables I have seen so far. The way in which the light reflects on the defined smooth curves really is something new to bring to the table!
